How to Embed Images

Embedding images is an important step in setting up your label files for print. Fortunately, doing so is quick and easy in Adobe Illustrator. Select each image in your label design, make sure to grab everything from barcodes to logos, and click Embed on your top toolbar. Once you save the new version of your file, you’re all set!

Images need something like a virtual passport to get from one place to the next. Embedding your images provides that virtual passport. All images in your custom label design need to be embedded; otherwise, they are at risk of not appearing when the file is opened. When you embed your images, it locks them down so that they are safe for transport.
